Euro Truck Simulator studio is ‘race’ to release DLC to support Ukrainian charities

SCS Software, the developer of American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, has announced that it’s working on a Ukrainian paint job pack DLC for both games, and all funds raised will be used to support victims of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“Although our team is a multinational company, the core of the company is rooted in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic,” SCS Software said in a statement. “The history of our country carries the memory of tragic events that resonate very similarly to what has happened in Ukraine in recent days, weeks and months. We see the same thing as what happened here in 1938 and 1968. Very similar, and the fact that the modern world has to witness such a horrific time again is deeply worrying, full of emotion and pain.”
SCS said it had donated more than 20,000 euros ($22,400) to “multiple charities” and pledged to continue financial aid in the coming days and weeks.
“We’ve also mobilized part of our team to immediately start working on a much-needed DLC – the Ukrainian paint job pack, which we’re racing to bring to the Steam store as quickly as possible, and we’ll be donating 100% of our income to those in need ,” SCS said.
The Ukrainian Paint Jobs Pack DLC will be released in American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Interestingly, the next Euro Truck Simulator 2 DLC is set in the heart of Russia, including Moscow, the Volga and Oka rivers, and centuries-old villages and forests. It was announced in March 2021, but still doesn’t have a release date – I’ve reached out to SCS to ask if the hack will affect the development of this expansion, and will update if I hear back.
