Fading Light 2: Everything We Know

🌐

Techland’s Dying Light 2: Stay Human is shaping a more fulfilling and fully realized world of the zombie apocalypse to enhance the original game’s first-class combat and traversal gameplay. Since its debut in 2018, it has come a long way, but “Dying Light 2” seems to be ready to expand and deepen the elements of “Dying Light” in all aspects. This means improved traversal gameplay and smooth movement, a reactive open-world story that considers player choices, and of course, there are more terrifying zombie monsters ready to tear you apart. As the game is At last The release date is approaching after multiple delays. The following is what we know about “Dying Light 2”.

release date

“Dying Light 2: Remaining People” will be released on February 4, 2022 and is available for PC, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch (although you will play the online version on Nintendo’s cloud) platform). The game was originally announced at E3 2018, and was initially expected to be released in the first half of 2020, but was postponed indefinitely. Then it was originally scheduled to be released on December 7, but it was postponed again.

The long wait for “Dying Light 2: Retaining People” can be attributed to the turbulent development cycle surrounding the project, with some complaints that Techland uses other games as a creative starting point for its own projects and a toxic work culture. Another problem may be related to the famous developer Chris Avelon, who originally served as the narrative director of “Dying Light 2: Staying in”, but was terminated due to allegations of sexual misconduct. However, the company did not acknowledge these reported problems in an official capacity.

What exactly is “Dying Light 2: Keep Humanity”?

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a first-person open-world action game. The background is set in an isolated city landscape after the zombie apocalypse. The Dying Light series places great emphasis on crossing, providing you with parkour capabilities, allowing you to quickly and effectively traverse the desolate urban landscape. You play as Aiden Caldwell, a freelance “runner” who handles odd jobs and tasks for citizens of one of Europe’s last human settlements. After the post-game expansion “Followers” of “Dying Light”, the former protagonist Kyle Crane was infected with a new strain of virus that turned people into greedy infectors, Juezhong spread this disease to all over the world. After the global epidemic broke out, modern civilization has come to an end, pushing mankind into a new dark age.

The sequel happened 20 years later, and the modern world is a thing of the past. In “Dying Light 2: Staying”, advanced technology is scarce and guns are difficult to obtain. You need to find parts and make temporary weapons to survive the fierce attack of the infected, while the enemy faction wants to take away your leftovers. Below. You will see some shooting games and first-person melee similar to Left 4 Dead 2. When you freely explore The City, which is four times larger than the original game world, you will be able to explore abandoned buildings in side quests and make important choices that will affect the flow of your story. Ultimately, your decisions throughout the settlement will leave an impression on the state of the last human settlement.

What’s the matter with the dying light zombie?

As described by Techland in the development video before the release of Dying Light 2, its zombies are slightly different from the zombies you might see in other games. These creatures are sensitive to light, so traveling during the day is much safer than traveling at night. This also means that you may encounter zombie dens in internal locations, making exploration dangerous.

Techland released a trailer during E3 2021, telling what you need to know about its specific zombie apocalypse, and also filled in some details about the protagonist Aiden Caldwell, which you can watch below.

Should you still play the original version?

Although “Dying Light 2: Remaining People” is a continuation of the original game plot and laid the foundation for a new story, the sequel itself is an independent game. Twenty years later, in a completely different location, “Dying Light 2: Retaining People” insisted on its narrative, and the quotation of the previous work was only to enrich the sense of world construction. Nevertheless, the original “Dying Light” is still an exciting game, and it performs well. If you are interested in the sequel but have not played the original version, you must give it a try. That being said, if you want to wait for the sequel, you won’t have much to lose.

What’s new in the sequel?

Dying Light 2: The most notable change in Stay Human is the new adaptive storytelling. Throughout the game, Aiden Caldwell will pass by various factions in the city. At a critical moment of the plot, he needs to choose who to stand with and move forward. Depending on the faction that controls the urban area, you will see changes in the environment that reflect their ideology. During E3 2019, we saw a game demo showing a mission set on a solid dam. A faction has moved in, turning it into a safe haven. Although it appears to be a peaceful place, your current mission requires you to break in and confront the leader, thus making you at odds with the team. Choosing to take over the dam will not only seize territory for your chosen faction, it will also change the layout of the map itself. By manipulating the water level of the dam, certain areas of the map will be flooded, making them inaccessible. On the contrary, other places will see the water drained, which will unearth new places for exploration, and the mutated infected will spread to the city.

Throughout the game, you will gain new abilities and weapons to help you fight robbers and more evolved infected. More importantly, the emphasis is on making equipment. In some cases, you can build modified weapons with multiple uses. In the E3 2019 demonstration, Aiden picked up a special harpoon gun that can be used as a mace when the ammunition runs out. In addition, modified weapons are more effective in the sequel, but your enemies are also more capable of defeating you in battle.

According to the developer, the sequel plans to get more clues from role-playing games, giving players more choices in the narrative process. Compared with the static plot of the original, the story of “Dying Light 2” provides more flexibility. In turn, this approach will create more opportunities to shape the vitality of the city according to your preferences. In addition to returning to the focus on open world exploration and melee combat, adaptive narrative also adds a new turning point, making the world of the game feel more like your own. In a recent interview, Techland developers stated that to view more than 100 hours of content in a game, multiple levels of game clearance are required.

Editor Mark Delaney played “Dying Light 2” in the Esports.com.tnpreview and praised the smoothness and freedom of movement of the game that we demonstrated in hands-on practice. He also wrote that although the characters feel a bit flat and the story selection is usually binary, overall, the narrative feels like “Dying Light” is a step forward and has potential.

“Dying Light 2 feels familiar, but not terrible,” he wrote. “Whether it is original or derivative, it feels very suitable for this world, and because of the most special aspect of the game, parkour athletic ability has been significantly improved, so I feel that “Dying Light 2” is both a bigger and better sequel. Openly inspired by different parts of the rulers such as Wizards, Zelda and Assassin’s Creed, “Dying Light 2” still feels that it will manage to leave its mark on the sandbox formula. With the fluidity of the fountain, it’s exciting Parkour should prove to be its icon when “Dying Light 2″ is released in February next year.”
