Final Fantasy 6 Remake adds 3D opera scenes with real singing

A new Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster is on the way, and it promises to upgrade one of the best JRPGs on PC with “all-new graphics and audio.” Nowhere is this more evident than in the game’s famous opera scene, which has been completely remastered with new 3D graphics—even proper vocals.

Considered one of the best RPGs of all time, Final Fantasy VI’s new Pixel Remaster will be released on Wednesday, February 23rd – but it’s not without controversy. One of the game’s most famous moments, the ridiculous train supplex, has been completely screwed up — and Square Enix has promised to fix it.

However, the other most famous scene in Final Fantasy VI is the Opera House, which seems to have received more attention to detail. As revealed in a recent report by Famitsu (via @Nibellion), the opera house itself has been completely remastered in 3D in a style similar to Lost Sphear or I Am Setsuna – that’s not all.

The opera scene will also feature a full dub – the only time this happens in the remake – with a real singer actually performing the song as Celes. You can check out a trailer for the scene in the new trailer that Square Enix just released.

This is very different from the original version, which you can see below.
