Last week, Square Enix took to social media to showcase one of Final Fantasy VI’s most memorable combat moves in the upcoming Pixel Remaster.yes it’s you were able Trains are still obfuscated in the new version. However, the clip the developers showed had a major problem – the train wasn’t upside-down when it received the suplex. That’s the problem that makes the game unplayable, but luckily that will be fixed before release.

“We’re still working on perfecting Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remake for release next week,” the developer said in a follow-up, “We saw some of your comments that the Phantom Train didn’t flip during the meteor strike. Video taken from pre-production The release version will be adjusted in time when it is released!”

Crisis resolved. The release date for the FF6 remake is set for February 23rd for Steam, iOS and Android. (You know, in case there aren’t enough upcoming PC games for you to enjoy in February.)

While the graphical changes — especially the fonts — have had mixed reactions, the Pixel Remaster series has so far proven to be a nice modern update to the classic.
