Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 May Release Later This Year

Today marks the 25th anniversary of Square Enix’s iconic role-playing game Final Fantasy VII, which first launched on the original PlayStation console in 1997. At the anniversary event today, Final Fantasy VII director and producer Kitase Kano said he wanted to reveal details about Final Fantasy VII. Celebrating the year of the classic RPG, the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake.
“We’re working hard on Final Fantasy VII: Eternal Crisis, so please look forward to it,” Kitase said via VGC, push dust translate. “We just started Final Fantasy VII’s 25th anniversary, so we wanted to celebrate and get fans excited, so over the next 12 months, we wanted to share some information. Looking forward to more!”
Since the first chapter launched in 2020, the details of the first remake sequel have been tighter than those of Mount Nibel’s Xenovia. As we all know, Naoki Hamaguchi, the co-director of the remake of Part 1, has been given full directorial responsibilities for the remake of Part 2, while Tetsuya Nomura has also taken on a broader creative director role on the project.
Last year, Remake Part 1 co-director Motomu Toriyama said he was sure parts of future sequels would be “significantly different from the original,” and that he hoped the game’s Honeybee Inn scene would be a good example of how parts have been updated and changed Original game for the modern audience.
While Remake’s first sequel may be a long way from release, there’s still plenty of Final Fantasy VII content coming. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis reimagines the game as an episodic series for mobile devices, covering the original game and its spin-offs, while the battle royale titled Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier recently launched.
Finally, Square Enix also marked the anniversary with a new artistic logo.
