Fortnite Jetpacks and Egg Launchers are back, baby

Today, two major projects return to Epic’s battle royale game: Fortnite Jetpacks and Egg Launchers, along with a big map change involving Spider-Man’s daily horn location. You have to give Epic credit; they like to keep us on our toes.
The first item without a vault is the jetpack, which you can find on the wall inside the IO airship. This will allow you to mess up more vertically, but you can use the jump button to make you float a little while it rains on other players. Just pay attention to the charge you get with each jump, because you don’t want to end up falling from a height – the ground still hurts, keep that in mind.
The next item is the Egg Launcher, an explosive weapon that feels like it belongs in Banjo-Kazooie rather than Fortnite. Finally, bouncy eggs are back, and they effectively give you low gravity when you eat them. Items aren’t the only changes happening today, either, as the map has also had some minor tweaks.
If you go to the Daily Bugle area, you will notice that the IO airship is no longer there, no doubt because we all pushed the IO back there. However, the airship is still in the game – it crashed in the sea to the west of the region. It’s now leaking oil into the surrounding water and it’s now called the daily rubble. There’s nothing to open outside of some IO boxes, but it’s a nice touch.

It’s also a sign of the changes we can expect throughout the season, as battles continue across the map and IO keeps handing their ass to them. Maybe that’s why they’re asking Darth Vader for help?
