Genshin Impact’s Yae Miko target fix is being fixed

The Genshin Impact Yae Miko objective fix was introduced as a change from last week’s animated game version 2.6 and is being fixed. Developer Mihoyo confirmed that it “didn’t consider” the impact the change would have on Yae Miko’s Sesshou Sakura, and will roll back the fix this week.

Released on March 30, the long-awaited Genshin Impact 2.6 update adds a new character, Kamisato Ayato, sets the stage for a number of big new events, and features a slew of updates, improvements, and fixes.

However, one of the fixes caused major problems for Yae Miko players. Yae Miko’s elemental skill ability is to leave Sakura’s soul on the battlefield, aiming and attacking nearby opponents. Sakura used to attack enemies randomly, and the 2.6 update should change that, so they attack the closest opponent in range. Unfortunately, players quickly noticed that this didn’t work as expected, and it’s now more “unclear” which enemy will be attacked.

Mihoyo apologized for the issue and said it “did not consider the impact of this modification on all possible combat scenarios during testing and validation.” It will roll back the changes to Yae Miko’s previous capabilities on April 6, saying it “will work to adjust our testing and validation process in the future” so things like this don’t slip through the cracks. The developer is also offering compensation of 100 Primogems to anyone who logs in before April 9.

As for Yae Miko’s goal change, it’s more of a “long term goal” right now, so don’t expect to see a fix again until it’s actually, you know, a fix.
