God of War is the highest rated and most played Sony game on Steam

It’s only been released a few days, but the God of War PC port has proven to be a huge hit for Sony — the publisher’s game has broken several records, including God of War Steam concurrent player count and user rating.
Four years after God of War rebooted to critical acclaim on the PS4, the game finally made its way to PC via Steam this week, somehow getting as much acclaim or more. With the sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, launching on PS5 and PS4 this year, the series is clearly exciting – which means a lot of new players are checking out the PC port, and apparently loving it, too.
While God of War’s concurrent player count on day one was slightly lower than the first PC day of PlayStation port Horizon: Zero Dawn, the Sony Santa Monica title seems to have united since then — Because player numbers have only increased since then, Sony games on PC hit an all-time high of 73,529 earlier today.
God of War was also the best-selling game on Steam last week, and is currently the highest player-rated Sony game on Steam, with an “overwhelmingly positive” rating from more than 8,000 reviews – a SteamDB rating of over 94%. In contrast, Days Gone scored 91.43%, and Horizon: Zero Dawn scored only 83.64%.

It’s been a good start to the year for Sony, and it may hope to continue the momentum when it launches the Uncharted: A Rogue Legacy franchise in the coming months. Whether it will be as good as God of War, however, is another matter.
