Hogwarts Legacy’s release date set for this holiday on PC

A release date for Hogwarts Legacy has now been vaguely confirmed – we don’t have a specific date, but we know the developers are aiming for a “holiday 2022” release. The upcoming open-world game set in the Harry Potter universe has been a mystery since it was first announced, but today the developers of Avalanche (Disney Infinity studios, not Just Cause studios) revealed extensive knowledge of the gameplay .

Hogwarts Legacy’s release date is set for Holiday PC in 2022, but we don’t know which storefronts it will be available through. The game will also be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles. Set in the 1800s, long before the most familiar Harry Potter characters, it lets you create a custom wizard to live through school life.

Today’s gameplay footage, as part of Sony’s State of Play series, offers a wide-ranging view of the various activities you can take part in. You’ll be able to engage in wizarding duels, explore the world beyond Hogwarts, craft magical and mundane items, and even delve into dungeons full of monsters.

You can check out the full gameplay demo below, or if you want the official breakdown in text form, you can find it on the PlayStation Blog.

In an earlier official FAQ, the developers noted that “JK Rowling was not directly involved in the creation of the game, however, her extraordinary work is the foundation of all projects in the Wizarding World. This is not a new JK Rowling story.”

By the way, the National Center for Transgender Equality in the US and Mermaid in the UK are excellent charities.
