How much would you pay to recreate iconic scenes from the movie? If you have taste, it’s well worth spending Europe’s GDP to replicate Avengers: Endgame’s epic final battle with a small bunch of toys. As an alternative, it’s also worth considering buying a collectible figure that can immortalize the second-best scene in a movie. No, we’re not talking about Thor properly cursing Noobmaster69 in the Fortnite game.
Endgame’s toughest moments boil down to a bewildered Thanos staring at Tony Stark just as the Avengers utter iconic dialogue lines and provide a reality-saving snapshot that ends infinity legend. In a movie with no shortage of incredible and memorable moments, that particular scene remains one of Endgame’s most exciting moments, and it’s faithfully preserved in the form of a Level 6 collectible from Hot Toys .
Is it worth investing nearly $450 for a bloody, scarred Iron Man?If you’re an Avengers fan and you don’t mind not having a food budget for the rest of the month, the answer is Yes. Food is temporary, collectible Iron Man toys are eternal.

It’s worth noting that this figure is essentially a revamp of the Mark 85 released before 2021, but shows off some wear and tear in the fight against Thanos. Several parts of the Nano Armor suit are badly damaged, but the overall joints are identical to the original Mark 85. That’s great, because that particular Iron Man replica is easily one of the best that Hot Toys has ever created.
This character has some really clever engineering built into it, one taken from previous Iron Man versions and added with some new ideas of his own. The segmented parts of the legs, biceps and hips make for a very nimble Iron Man who is able to move into action poses, complete three-point landings, or, hypothetically, flip the position of one of Thanos’ Infinity Stones-empowered fingers. You may still need to be careful when flexing Iron Man’s limbs as some panels are more flexible than others, but this one has some tight ratchet joints on the links, the torso is solidly constructed, and the arms have impressive mobility Profound character.
As you might expect, the paint job and sculpture on this Hot Toys Iron Man is very detailed. There are many subtle yet obvious details incorporated into the design of this particular Iron Man suit, enhanced by the vibrant and accurate color scheme of the film’s avatar. However, the most eye-catching is the battle damage on the armor. Every mechanical scar and fresh scorch marks are ridiculously beautiful.

Strangely, this damage only applies to the front of the character. While that would make sense – since who has a shelf full of level six Iron Man’s staring at your wall – it’s a shame not to see any beautiful destruction surrounding the entire Iron Man suit. It’s not that Hot Toys can’t do it – the studio is currently working on a zombie version of Tony Stark based on the Mysterio hallucination in Spider-Man: Far From Home – but seeing the back of this iron so clean The image of a man detracts from some of the appeal of this replica.
All the other details of the Mark 85 are commendable, from the extensive use of die-cast metal materials to the various accessories. Out of the box, you can easily unplug Iron Man’s regular helmet look and replace it with a head sculpt, the incredible representation of actor Robert Downey Jr. in the movie. Like his armor, he has some battle damage of his own and a stoic facial expression that fits perfectly with his final stance against Thanos.
There are also plenty of accessories interchangeable with regular Mark 85 figures, such as special edition energy shields that fit easily into fists, extra armored hands for various poses, energy blades, claw blasters for each arm, and a Decent size diorama base. The real star of the show here is the Infinity Gloves, a version that takes almost as much hit as Iron Man. Unlike the clean version that comes with the standard Mark 85 figure, this one looks as if it was held together with tape and positive thoughts.
“Are you lucky, punk?”
Fortunately, it doesn’t Feel Still, the image of wearing a worn-out suit and gloves that barely hold cosmic energy is an absolute beauty. You can also use it with three sets of hands – a relaxed palm, a hand with fully articulated fingers, and a snapping hand – and there’s even full LED support in the armor. As with every Iron Man figure made by Hot Toys, you’ll need the hands of a safe cracker to get these lights on. That means popping the rear hatch and part of the helmet, subtly inserting a few small batteries, flicking a switch, and you’re good to go.
Relying on a few tiny batteries feels like an ancient way to keep Iron Man lights powered up, especially compared to the more elegant solutions that other companies have come up with recently. As an example of how far behind Hot Toys is in development, you can look at companies like Morgan’s Workshop, which hacked the design to install an internal battery that can be charged between sessions. Toyworld even has an unlicensed version of the Optimus Prime that houses a rechargeable light via a USB-C connection. If third-party studios can perfect the design, Hot Toys will need to up its game in this department if it is to remain relevant.
Technical complaints aside, though, the Mark 85 battle damage suit is a destructive work of art. You don’t need to place it in a very clear position to appreciate its presence, as even a simple museum pose, holding the Infinity Glove up will get anyone’s attention when they see it. When you have that number, you have a choice, and if you want to recreate one of the MCU’s defining moments, the Mark 85 has smart enough engineering inside to make it happen.
While it’s not the last Iron Man figure in Hot Toys’ arsenal — there are a dozen other Iron Man-related figures in development at the time of this writing — it’s the last armor in the current MCU timeline the Avengers. It’s a replica with bold colors, bionic battle scars, and a decent selection of accessories, making it the ultimate version of an icon. If you’re looking to wrap up your collection with well-designed collectible art, the Mark 85 Battle Damage Set is well worth its high retail price of $445.
