How to Get the Best Dying Light 2 Weapons

Looking for the strongest Dying Light 2 weapon? Surviving in Villedor isn’t easy, with hordes of the Infected everywhere, and you’ll soon learn how a good weapon can make a difference in Techland’s bloody zombie game.

As you explore and progress through the story, you’ll find tons of loot scattered across the post-apocalyptic city, including weapons and materials. Blunt weapons, such as maces, hammers, and sticks, can knock down enemies, while slashing weapons, like axes and machetes, can sever limbs. There are also ranged weapons that allow you to fight from a distance, but you won’t find guns around Villedor – it’s a bullet-free zone. Instead, you unlock bows at specific points in the campaign.

In addition to certain quest rewards, you’ll find random weapons in Dying Light 2. They have variable stats based on your level, so your weapons get better as you level up. You can tell how good a weapon is by looking at its rarity, from the common “white” weapon to the uncommon (green), rare (blue), unique (purple), and finally highlighted in gold Artifact weapon. Artifact weapons have the highest durability, the most weapon mod slots, and the most stat bonuses. Here’s how to find the best Dying Light 2 weapons.

airdrop

Drop boxes often contain rare items, so we recommend that you try to loot them when you find them. You can usually find them on roofs and can be identified by the parachute hanging from the roof next to them. They take some climbing to get to, but they’re worth the effort.

Towards the end of the game, you can enter the newly discovered Lost Lands – the Sunken Drops here have particularly good loot, and there’s a good chance you’ll find artifact weapons there.

GRE Trailer

If you’re lucky, you can find artifact weapons during normal looting; but if you need an upgrade in particular, your best bet is to find GRE Trailer. You can use the GRE key to unlock GRE trailers, each containing a random artifact weapon along with other rare loot. As far as we can tell, these weapons won’t respawn with the other loot in the trailer, so once you pick them up, they’ll be locked to your level for the rest of the game.

quest item

bow and arrow

Bows and arrows are your ranged weapons in Dying Light 2, but you can’t use them until halfway through the story. After completing the “Let’s Waltz” quest, you’ll automatically get the base bow, which you’ll get into the game hours later, as well as a set of arrow blueprints. More arrow blueprints with powerful elemental effects can be purchased from the Craftsman.

paper clip bow

The Paper Clip Bow is an upgraded version of the standard bow that you can find in The Shoe quest – it’s on the shelf in Lawan’s apartment.

supplier

You can exchange old world currencies for weapons and accessories at vendors across the city – as you level up, the inventory offered increases.

boom

We mentioned earlier that you won’t find guns around, but you can make one yourself, called a Boomstick. After completing the Observatory quest, you can purchase the blueprint for this weapon from any Peacekeeper craftsman – after entering the Central Loop, this is a way to enter the main story.

award

PK crossbow

Who needs a gun when you have an insanely powerful semi-automatic crossbow? The PK crossbow is the fourth faction reward for the Peacekeeper faction, so you’ll need to hand over four facilities to the PK to get this powerful ranged weapon. You can’t modify it, but you can make several different types of bolts in place of crossbows.

Other than that, we recommend you keep an eye out for randomly generated weapons with good stats that increase your damage. It’s no use having powerful weapons if you can’t stand and fight, so to increase your health and stamina, find Dying Light 2 Inhibitors here. If you’re struggling to figure out your Dying Light 2’s security code, we’re here to help too.
