Inscryption’s Endless Roguelike Mode Has Arrived
Inscryption is one of the best games of 2021, but it’s hard to justify placing it in any particular category. Yes, it’s a deck-building game, but it’s also a puzzle game and horror game that blends genres and themes effortlessly and deeply. Inscryption’s mini-expansion, Kaycee’s Mod, is out of beta, ready to keep you playing this satisfying card roguelike component forever.
In fact, Kaycee’s mod lets you endlessly repeat the first part of Inscryption, a series of increasingly challenging card battles against an eerie and mysterious opponent named Leshy. You must manage your deck by making sacrifices, recruiting new units, and choosing a path through the dark forest on the map.
However, Kaycee’s mod doesn’t just make Inscryption’s card-fighting components endless. As we pointed out when it started open beta, there are new options to increase the difficulty of each run, as well as new cards and items to use in battle, new final encounters, and new lore.
More was added during testing, such as new map events and even new objects to investigate in the cabin.
