The Kingdom Hearts IV trailer has finally been revealed on the secret 20th anniversary show, finally confirming the fourth full entry into the Square Enix/Disney JRPG game saga. However, while the trailer showed off the setting, gameplay and some characters, a PC version of Kingdom Hearts IV remains unconfirmed.

There was no livestream of the Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary event in Japan today, but rumours and whispers about the unveiling of Kingdom Hearts IV kept coming. Finally, Square Enix backed down and confirmed the sequel to the RPG game with a full trailer. The next Kingdom Hearts is set in a city called Quadratum, described as some sort of “afterlife” in which Sora wakes up. He battles a giant black monster invading the city in a fake game sequence, and then the title is revealed.

However, the platform and the game’s release date were not mentioned. It took two years for Kingdom Hearts III to finally come to PC, so we have to hope that doesn’t happen again. Regardless, the release date could be a long way off, as fans had to wait six years from the game’s announcement to its final release.

You can check out the Kingdom Hearts IV trailer below, as well as several mobile games – Kingdom Hearts: The Missing Link seems to be directly tied to the sequel’s story, so fans might want to keep an eye out for that. Oh, gotta stick it out for Donald and Goofy.
