League of Legends Zerry will be nerfed in next patch

Zeri, Spark of Zaun, was recently added to League of Legends in the MOBA game’s 12.2 patch. Since then, we’ve seen the hero’s Hurricane Lunan interaction nerfed, and now a slew of other balance changes have made their way to the PBE for a round of testing ahead of the next major update’s live debut.

According to the notes for League of Legends patch 12.4 — which is based on what’s currently on the test servers — Zeri’s Q ability, Burst Fire, has changed the most. It’s worth noting that her Q’s base damage is being scaled down, although from the benefit of Zeri’s mainline, the ability’s base damage now crits, so there’s a potential for an extra punch.

Elsewhere, Burst Fire’s right-click slow has been slightly nerfed at lower tiers, both in damage amount and duration, and its uncharged right-click damage has also been reduced. However, the maximum level slow has been slightly enhanced, as has the uncharged right-click low health multiplier.

Meanwhile, Zeri’s W, Ultrashock Laser, will be changing its cooldown with an upcoming patch, going from 10 seconds to 13 seconds, and down to 9 seconds at the highest level. As of the current PBE version, though, Riot appears to be testing further changes to this ability beyond what the studio has done in its Patch preview. It seems that the slow effect of this skill decreases at lower levels, but remains at 70% at the highest level.

Hello!

The content of 12.4 is here and there are sure to be some spicy changes.

It’s important to note that these are some quicker changes to the metadata at the top of the drop-down support item. I don’t expect these to be the last changes in the space, but any bigger changes will take more time to validate. pic.twitter.com/mkuhtHtHVl

Zeri’s E ability, Spark Surge, has an increased cooldown at most ranks, and the cooldown reduction for each hero hitting ability or attack has been reduced from 1.5 seconds to 1 second. Zeri’s ultimate, Lightning Crash, is changing, which means its attack speed is now fixed at 30%.

It’s worth noting that all of these are only temporary changes, so there’s no guarantee that all of them will make their way to live game, or as they did on the PBE.
