Little Tina’s Wonderland includes co-op customization options

Borderlands games have always been about shooting bad guys and grabbing loot with friends, and the upcoming spinoff of the franchise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, will remain an integral part of that formula. When the game launches on March 25, players will be able to jump into each other’s game, whether sitting on the same couch or a few miles away, and seem to be able to customize the experience however they want.
Anyone playing co-op in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has fine control over their session. Players will have two options to change how loot drops, and two more options to change the difficulty of enemies. While it’s unclear what those options are, Borderlands 3 previously allowed consoles to set instance-based loot drops, meaning each player would have their own set of loot instead of everyone having to split it fall. As for the enemy options, players can set up enemies to scale individually with each player, meaning anyone can play co-op together, regardless of their gear.
At launch, anyone playing Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will have access to cross-play via Gearbox’s SHiFT Matchmaking. This applies to anyone playing on an Xbox Series console, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 or PC. It’s a clear change from Borderlands 3, which launched without cross-game compatibility, though it’s being patched into the game in 2021, with the exception of the PlayStation version.
Of course, people can also get together to play Gearbox’s latest Borderlands adventure, but it’ll take into account the platform they’re on. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will support split-screen at launch, giving four players a corner of the screen on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, anyone playing on PS4 or Xbox One will only be able to let two people play at the same time, probably due to hardware limitations.
