New Kung Fu Panda Series Coming To Netflix With Jack Black Returning

Netflix has announced a new Kung Fu Panda animated series, with Jack Black returning to voice the protagonist Apo. Kung Fu Panda: Dragon Knight from DreamWorks Animation follows Po on a mission to stop a pair of mysterious weasels from stealing a powerful weapon.
Po is on the road with a “serious” British knight named Wandering Blade, though Netflix hasn’t announced who will voice the character or provide any graphics. Regardless, the “misfit warriors” find common ground and work together to find the magic weapon to save the world.

The Dragon Rider announcement was made on National Panda Day today, with Black himself announcing his participation in a TikTok video. The show will premiere on Netflix this July.
The Kung Fu Panda movie premiered in 2008 and was a huge success, spawning two sequels, released in 2011 and 2016. Several short films were also released. Netflix’s new series isn’t the first in the series, as Nickelodeon’s Kung Fu Panda: The Awesome Saga debuted in 2011, and Amazon Prime launched Kung Fu Panda: The Claw of Destiny in 2018.
After Dragon Knight, Blake will voice Bowser in the upcoming Super Mario movie.
