New World’s Winter Gathering So Popular It Has Been Extended By Two Weeks

The New World Winter Convergence’s end date has been pushed back as the MMO’s first festive festival proved too popular. The Winter Event has now been extended by two weeks until January 25th, so players can get these gifts before the end of the month.
Winter Convergence is New World’s first official event since it launched a few months ago, and it kicks off on December 16th. In addition to covering Aeternum with snow, the festival adds new quests, activities, items, weapons, and a winter wanderer known as the mysterious snowman – either the benevolent Santa or the fearsome warrior.
The original Winter Convergence was supposed to end next Tuesday, January 11, but in a recent community update, developer Amazon Game Studios said it would extend those two weeks — so the event won’t end until January 25,” Due to the large number of participants” the team has seen from the festival. Plus, all giveaways from the event will be up for grabs from January 21-25.
As Amazon reminds players, this isn’t just a general expansion, but an opportunity for players to earn all of their various event-only rewards. “You may never see them again,” warns the developer. After January 25th, any unopened gifts or unused event tokens will be removed, so make sure to take advantage of Winter Confluence and get all your rewards before the end.
It’s great to hear that New World will give players a chance to slow down rather than rush, especially as game director Scot Lane admitted to us that the studio “made a mistake by moving too fast” in the MMO.
