Overwatch 2 beta release date confirmed

Blizzard aired a livestream specifically for its upcoming FPS game, and while it’s fairly knowledgeable about the specifics, it at least gave us the Overwatch 2 beta release date. The first round of beta participants will be able to join by the end of April, with more players being invited over time.
This Overwatch 2 beta release date is April 26, 2022, and you can sign up on the official site—though you’ll need to own Overwatch 1 to participate. The first beta is only available on PCs (and only on Windows machines), although the developer noted in the FAQ that future betas will include console players. No progression will carry over to the full game.
The selection of early test participants will be “based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) your Battle.net region, when you registered, and your computer hardware specifications.” The system requirements for Overwatch 2 have been posted for a while, so you can follow the link to see if your system is ready to check.
The developers also confirmed today that Doomfist is being turned into a tank as part of the rework. The beta was previously confirmed to show reworked Orisa, Bastion, and Sombra, along with four new maps, a ping system, and a new hero, Sojourn.
