Overwatch 2 beta starts in April, you can sign up now

The Overwatch 2 beta is now open to Blizzard employees and Overwatch League pros, but you’ll be able to play for yourself soon. Blizzard has opened beta registration for its upcoming FPS game, and the first players to participate will be in from April. More players will be added in waves ahead of the bigger stress test, with larger player counts coming later.

In beta, you’ll see Overwatch stripped down to a new 5v5 configuration, with a new playable hero in Sojourn. Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra will have four reworked heroes, with four new ones for Royal Raceway (escort), Midtown (mixed), New Queen Street (push), and Colosseum (push) map. The Push game mode is a new mode for Overwatch 2, as is the ping system, which will also be available in beta.

You can sign up for the beta version on the official website. (We still don’t know when the correct Overwatch 2 release date will come.)

The developers also announced that they will be “decoupling” Overwatch 2’s PvP and PvE modes for “faster access to new PvP content.” So don’t expect to see any PvE content in these early builds.

In July 2021, the state of California filed a lawsuit against Activision Blizzard alleging years of discrimination and harassment in the workplace. The story has since embroiled CEO Bobby Kotick and prompted an investigation by the U.S. federal government. It continues to grow and is of immense importance to the gaming industry.
