QuestCraft mod brings Minecraft VR to Oculus Quest 2

Minecraft VR has been around for a while, but is currently only available through the game’s Bedrock Edition on the Microsoft Store. Understandably, this makes those using Java Edition feel neglected. However, a new unofficial mod called QuestCraft hopes to change that, allowing those with Meta’s best VR headsets to finally craft their own blocky adventures in virtual reality through the power of “QuestCraft.”

As UploadVR highlights, QuestCraft is currently in beta development and users may experience bugs or other issues while using it. Additionally, Minecraft Java Edition is known for being far less optimized than its Bedrock Edition, which means that any performance issues are likely to be exacerbated due to the extra horsepower required for VR.

The mod’s APK can be downloaded from the QuestCraft Github page, where you can also find instructions on how to install it on Quest 2. Of course, you’ll need to own or buy Minecraft Java, which is a worthless version because it’s part of the setup process.

While it’s probably inevitable that the Minecraft modding community will make something like this, we can only hope that an official Minecraft port for the Oculus Quest headset isn’t too far away.

At least we won’t have to wait for the Oculus Quest 3 to get our wireless Minecraft capabilities.
