Rainbow Six Extraction System Requirements Might Not Force You To Upgrade Your PC

With Rainbow Six Escape just a few weeks away, Ubisoft has released a full list of PC hardware if you want to play it. To everyone’s delight, the hardware requirements shouldn’t surprise you, so any recently updated setup should get you going in no time.

This is naturally the low end of the visual range, but still runs at 1080p, which is not bad anyway. No frame rate is given, but my assumption is that 30 fps is the benchmark. So this is what you need:

Low (1080p)

  • CPU: Intel i5-4460 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • graphics processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB / AMD RX 560 4GB
  • RAM: 8GB (dual channel setting)
  • operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
  • storage: 85GB

High (1080p)

  • CPU: Intel i7-4790 / AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • graphics processor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD RX 580 8GB
  • RAM: 16GB (dual channel setup)
  • operating system: Windows 10 64-bit
  • storage: 85GB

High (1440)

  • CPU: Intel i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
  • graphics processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB / AMD RX 5600CT 6GB
  • RAM: 16GB (dual channel setup)
  • operating system: Windows 10/11 64-bit
  • storage: 85GB

Ultra (2160p)

  • CPU: Intel i9-9900K / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • graphics processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB / AMD RX 6800XT 16GB
  • RAM: 16GB (dual channel setup)
  • operating system: Windows 10/11 64-bit
  • storage: 85GB (+9GB HD textures)

The PC version of Rainbow Six’s extraction will also support uncapped frame rates, multi- and widescreen monitors, Nvidia DLSS and Reflex, Vulkan API, “deep customization options” and built-in benchmarking tools. All platforms will also support cross-play, cross-progress and cross-save.

As for what you can expect from the game, Rainbow Six Battle Royale is essentially a co-op zombie shooter, but it’s nowhere near as Left 4 Dead like you might think: we checked out the June 2021 pre-release version and found it to be “slower and more organized” than the type we expected. It remains to be seen how this will work out:

“The speed is naturally suitable for Siege’s close-range shootout, but it feels a little weird in a zombie game,” Morgan wrote in his preview. “Maybe that’s why enemy swarms are so sparse. Regular parasite enemies are as weak as L4D zombies, but they don’t gather in swarms. I often find one or two standing still in a room, waiting patiently”

“Rainbow Six Extraction” will be released on January 20.
