Ratchet & Clank leads 2022 DICE Awards with 9 nominations
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for its 25th annual DICE Awards — the video game industry equivalent of the Oscars — currently scheduled for February 24 in Las Vegas.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart leads all games with 9 nominations, followed by Deathloop with 8 nominations and Inscryption and It Takes 2 with 6 nominations each. Each of these games, along with Returnal, make up the Game of the Year nominees at this year’s awards ceremony. The full list of nominees is below.

Meggan Scavio, Dean of the Faculty of Interactive Arts and Sciences, said: “To all of us at the Academy, we would like to thank our peer group members who continue to dedicate their energy, expertise and time to evaluating and Choose the best games of 2021.” in the official release. “Congratulations to all of our finalists! You continue to amaze us with how you push the boundaries of creativity, technological innovation and storytelling.”
Last year’s DICE Awards ceremony was held digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Last of Us Part II came into the night with 11 nominations — more than any other game — but Supergiant Games’ Hades was the big winner, taking five of eight nominations, including Game of the Year.
Nominees for the DICE Awards are selected by members of the AIAS peer group, comprising “the gaming industry’s most experienced and talented experts in their chosen field.” Voting for nominees will begin today, and the winner will be broadcast live at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas on the final day of the 2022 DICE Summit.
