Sniper Elite 4 is a super fun 3rd person shooter focused on stealth and sniping Nazis from a distance. It’s really one of my favorite shooters of late, and Tyler loves it too, writing that it “embraces freeform gameplay, gets better in co-op, and most importantly allows us to shoot from great distances. ”

Its long-awaited (my) follow-up is Sniper Elite 5, and Rebellion has a confirmed release date: May 26. Like these games, if you pre-order Sniper Elite 5, you’ll get a special mission centered on sniping Hitler himself. “You’ll infiltrate Hitler’s private mountain resort in the Bavarian Alps, the Berghof, packed with heavily armed private guards and an array of collectibles for eagle-eyed snipers,” reads the official tagline. .

Rebellion also confirmed in January that Sniper Elite 5 will have a new “Invasion Mode” similar to the one in Dark Souls. As such, expect occasional invasions by player-controlled Axis snipers who also have access to other AI-controlled Axis soldiers to target Allied snipers. Sounds interesting.

In keeping with the usual WWII setup, Sniper Elite 5 will move from Italy to France in the previous installment. Expect a series of sprawling sandbox maps with lots of verticality, ideally shooting Nazis from far away, and then enjoying the slow X-ray footage of the bullet entering the skull.
