Square Enix’s next RPG has been delayed
Before Final Fantasy XVI came out, Square Enix brought us a new IP for its contribution to the world of RPG gaming, and we didn’t seem to have much time to wait for ourselves to check out Forspoken. However, Forspoken’s release date has been pushed back from its previous May release, and now we’ll wait until this fall.
“We have decided to move the release date of Forspoken to October 11, 2022,” the developer said in announcement“Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and heroes that gamers around the world will want to experience for years to come, so it’s important for us to do it right. To that end, over the next few years Over the next few months, we’re going all out on perfecting the game, and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall.”
Forspoken was previously set to launch on Steam and PlayStation 5 on May 24, 2022. As Frey, you are transported from modern-day New York City to a magical world called Athia, which you will explore through magical parkour.
Development is being led by Luminous Productions, a Square Enix subsidiary established in 2018. Many of the studio’s developers are from the Final Fantasy XV team.
