Stanley’s Fables: The Ultra Deluxe Edition will be released in April

It’s been a long wait, but Stanley’s Fables: Ultra Deluxe Edition now has an official release date, and it’s coming soon. Launching on Steam on April 27th, this expanded version of the groundbreaking 2013 indie game will add a ton of new content to Stanley’s introspective adventure.
Stanley’s Fable is a game that has been ironically called a “walking simulator” in the past, but it offers a rather poignant and stark look at the fundamentals of game design and the relationship players form with the game’s world and mechanics. Playing the game involves asking yourself whether you tend to follow the directions the game provides or try to break the rules, and Stanley’s parable’s dry and funny narrator will comment on every decision you make.
As we’ve reported, the “Super Deluxe” edition of The Stanley Parable will include new content, meaning new adventures for Stanley and the long-suffering narrator, as well as a new ending just waiting to be discovered. Originally slated for 2019, it was pushed back to 2020 — but as we all know, the release date that year was a bit odd.
But that’s okay: developer Crows Crows Crows has now revealed that Stanley’s Fables: Ultra Deluxe Edition is coming April 27, and you can add it to your Steam wishlist right now.

“Stanley’s Fables is a game that plays you,” the Ultra Deluxe’s Steam page cryptically reads.
This version is an “extended re-imagining” of the original Stanley Fable, so we’ll be interested to see how far down the rabbit hole we can go this time.
