The new PS5 controller colors are really trending — check them out

Considering the PS5 looks like a piece of tech you’d find on a rocket ship, it makes sense for PlayStation to stick to the space theme of its DualSense controller variant. As announced last month, three new galactic colors will join the mission: Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple and Nova Pink. The controllers are due out later this month, and we have to say they look pretty cool up close.

The Starlight Blue model is my favorite. It’s the first DualSense controller to feature a lighter tint, and it’s quite eye-catching. Galaxy Purple is certainly an interesting shade, though. Nova Pink looks like a lighter version of the Cosmic Red model released last summer. Each new controller retails for $75.
There are a total of six DualSense colors to choose from, including the white model that comes with the console. The Starlight Blue and Nova Pink controllers will be released tomorrow via PlayStation Direct (sold out), and can be pre-ordered at retailers like Amazon ahead of a January 28 launch in other stores. While the Galaxy Purple model was also announced on PlayStation Direct on January 14, it won’t be available at major retailers until February 11. The Galaxy Purple variant is currently unavailable for pre-order.
PlayStation also released matching console panels for each controller color. The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red panels launch January 21 at PlayStation Direct and February 18 at other retailers for $55 each. The Star Blue, Nova Pink and Galaxy Purple panels will be released in the first half of 2022, but no specific date has been set. We installed the Midnight Black panel and it was very easy.
