The next Total Warhammer 3 patch should fix the alt-tab crash

Our Total War: Warhammer 3 review described the latest entry in the series as one of the best RTS games around, but unfortunately, it’s not without technical issues. Developer Creative Assembly has addressed some of these issues with a recent performance update, but the studio just shared its “patch 1.0.2”. Timeline’ should fix alt-tab crashes etc.
In its developer diary, Creative Assembly shared that crashes caused by alt-tab instability were “the bulk of our crash reports”, making it a “major issue under investigation” for the studio. While it hopes to include a potential fix in the next patch, the company said it may have to wait “until the next next update” based on the results of its internal testing.
The update should also address issues related to game install paths when non-ASCII characters are present, combat being out of sync, unexpected vertical sync locks, and further performance improvements for Intel Alder Lake gaming PCs.
Creative Assembly also discussed the use of Denuvo DRM in Total War: Warhammer 3, hoping to clear up some of the “misunderstandings” surrounding its implementation. The developer emphasized that the software had appeared in previous games in the series, describing its performance impact as “undetermined.” Still, the studio is conducting tests to determine its full impact, if any.

We can expect Patch 1.0.2 to be released on March 10th, but the developers say it may have to delay its release until March 17th to reduce the risk of these fixes introducing new issues.
