The original designer of Master Chief shared his thoughts on Halo Infinite

Marcus Lehto, the original designer of Master Chief and one of the chief architects of the entire series, shared his thoughts on Halo Infinite. After playing the campaign during the holidays, Lehto said that the Halo Infinite campaign “brought back the magic of Halo” even though he did have some problems with the game.
“Salute to my friends at 343,” Lehto said. “The Halo Infinite event brought back the magic of Halo. I really enjoyed the time with the chief!” Lehto added, this is not perfect However, as the designer said, he encountered some problems with objective priorities on the open world map. “A common problem or an OK Boomer problem?” he said with a smile in another tweet.

Lehto participated in the original Halo: Combat Evolved as its art director, and is the co-creator of the entire Halo universe. Before leaving and starting his own studio, V1 Interactive, he produced a sequel to Halo at Bungie, which released a game Disintegration before the company closed. Lehto is now the game director of a new electronic arts studio in Seattle that will develop new narrative components for the Battlefield series as part of a broader franchise reorganization.
After a long delay and difficult development period, Halo Infinite’s campaign was launched in December 2021 and was a huge success. The sci-fi shooter has received many positive reviews. The free multiplayer element of the game was released in November and was well received, although some people think its microtransactions are a problem.
