Total Warhammer 3’s alt-tab crash fix delayed until next patch

Total War: Warhammer III’s next patch is due next week, but unfortunately, it won’t include a fix for the alt-tab crash experienced by RTS gamers. Developer Creative Assembly said fixing the crash would cause other issues to arise, so it’s deferring the fix until things are resolved.

In a new Steam post, the developers of Total War: Warhammer III explain that a fix they found for the alt-tab crash caused additional graphics issues, so they won’t be including it in Patch 1.0, which arrives next week .2 in. Instead, once the fix has undergone some additional testing, it will be added to a beta branch that you can access from the Steam Options menu in Total War: Warhammer III.

However, the patch will contain some welcome performance improvements, out-of-sync fixes, and fixes for some boot issues that Creative Assembly says are “preventing certain players from playing or enjoying the game.” The studio said the patch will also address forced vertical sync and some “ongoing issues with Alderlake build processors.”
