Warno’s latest update adds divisions, reduces bugs

Cold War RTS game Warno is moving forward as promised with its ambitious Early Access program, and its first major update is now available. Update Ney adds two new divisions, new units, a huge new 10v10 map, and a bunch of balance changes and bug fixes to kick off.
As promised by developer Eugen Systems in its roadmap, the first two new battlegroups to join the Warno lineup are the US 8th Infantry Division (Mechanized) and the Soviet 39th Guards Motorized Infantry Division. These added some new units to Varno’s already dizzying roster, including the American M60A3 Patton tank, which reached the end of its battle days by 1989, and the Soviet BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, which, by contrast, was only in year 1987.
The update comes with various fixes, such as correcting some tank armor penetration values and fixing some unit and variant nomenclature. Eugen also corrected an issue with the onboard machine gun that caused an effect called chassis knockback. They also fixed an issue with the mortar that wasn’t causing the chassis to knock back, but it should.
There’s now a handy keyboard shortcut command to tell your helicopter to land – just press K by default. The “sell” command (e.g. you might find it helpful once you’ve unloaded an infantry unit in the woods) is now visible in the options menu.
Overall, the damage dealt by infantry will be reduced by about 15%, while the aiming time of tanks is reduced by one second.
Eugen also listed some outstanding issues that have yet to be resolved, such as some inconsistent unit cards between departments and some units being priced too low. The studio also said it plans to overhaul machine gun stats, so keep that in mind when crafting battle groups.
