When is our HTC Vive review coming?

When Oculus launched the Rift three years ago, it was hard to believe we could buy an affordable and practical VR headset for our PCs – and now, we’ve launched two impressive VR headsets, Only a week apart. The Vive, the result of a collaboration between HTC and Valve, is now shipping to gamers, with the censorship embargo lifted on the final hardware today. We’ve been using the headphones, but our review isn’t ready.
As we did with the Oculus Rift, we’ll need a few more days to evaluate the Vive’s hardware and software experience. There are plenty of games to try, both sitting and standing, many of which won’t be playable until release.
We plan to release our HTC Vive review later this week, dedicating more hands-on time to trying each launch game and evaluating how the headset’s features and ergonomics compare to the Oculus Rift. We also have independent reviews of Rift and Vive release games, so keep an eye out for those reviews.
