World of Warcraft chief film designer revisits Black Temple trailer ahead of Raid’s return
A remastered version of the Dark Temple raid is coming to World of Warcraft. Blizzard released a new patch for Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade this week, which includes classic raids as well as the Battle for Mount Hyjal, except those raids don’t actually go live until January 27th.
A big part of WoW Classic is nostalgia, though, so Blizzard hired lead film designer Terran Gregory to review the original trailer and give us some thoughts from the team. Gregory shared that the Black Temple trailer was his first gig at Blizzard, as he was only hired after winning a video contest with the developer. It’s lovely to see Gregory’s fondness for time, so it’s certainly worth a look.
If you’re out of the loop, though, the Dark Temple will see you battle the iconic villain Illidan Stormrage on top of the titular temple. To find him, though, you’ll need to clear eight bosses, such as the high-ranking warlord Naj’entus, Supremus, Shadow of Akama, and Teron Gorefiend. You can find it after the Shadowmoon Valley skirmish goes live, although it’s a level 70 skirmish, so you better be prepared.

The latest Warcraft Classic: The Burning Crusade patch is a pivotal moment for Activision Blizzard. This week, we found out that Microsoft has agreed to buy the company for $70 billion. Blizzard also outlined cultural changes and promised a game announcement following news of the acquisition.
