Pokemon Go Regice Raid Guide: Best Counters, Weaknesses, Raid Times and More Tips
Pokemon Go’s next special five-star raid is now underway, and trainers need to put ice cubes in their veins to catch this legendary Pokemon.
Regice from the Hoenn area is named for the latest Pokemon Go 5-star raid, from now until February 1st. Regice’s time to raid Pokemon as a 5-star is part of the game’s January 2022 campaign. Regice is the first of three “Regi” Pokemon introduced to Pokemon GO, so this isn’t the first time it has appeared. But any chance of adding such a rare Pokemon is worth it, so check out the tips below if you’re up for the challenge of a raid.

Regice Raid Schedule
Regice will enter the 5-star Raid Ring starting January 24th at 1pm PT / 4pm ET until the same time on February 1st. Unfortunately, the game’s raid doesn’t follow any set schedule – there’s no Regice for when it’ll be available, although there should be – but the game keeps telling you who’s raiding nearby, so keep an eye out.
For those who need Regice’s presence, though, there’s hope: Pokemon Go’s weekly raid time on Wednesday night. This week’s raid time — January 26th from 6pm to 7pm local time — will feature Iceberg Pokemon at nearly every gym in the game. If you want a guaranteed shoot in Regice, gather your friends and set off after dinner on Wednesday night.
Regice Weaknesses and Countermeasures
Regice, as the name suggests, is an Ice-type Pokémon. No other types to worry about, just ice and ice. Because of this, Fire-type Pokemon will be the best choice for these encounters. If you caught a Heatran during the previous January raid time, this raid might be the time for it to shine. If you miss it, you can still take a Chandelure, Darmanitan or Charizard and keep it in good shape.
Fire isn’t the Regice’s only weakness, as steel, fighting, and rock-type attacks also weaken its icy exterior. Lucario and Machamp would be perfect for fighting genres, while Metagross and Zacian (with the Crowned Sword) could have some steel type options.

Luckily, there’s only one type of move Regice resists, and it’s a significant no-brainer. No elf trainer in their head would be an ice move to an ice pokemon raid, but if one somehow sneaks into your party it will only do about two-thirds of the time on hit harm. If you leave the ice move at home and let this raid go haywire, Regice will be yours in no time.
